in NC you can run any plate a vintage style plate as long as it matches the year the car was and you have your real plate in the car if a cop pulls you over.

IIRC Japandrew went to one of those vintage license plate replica website thingymagigs. You know, the ones you buy for novelty and stuff. He bought a California one and had it shipped to another state since he couldn't order any Cali plates given that he resides in that state. Then just got it shipped over to his house and he was done. Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure that's what he did.

As long as you don't go around letting the world know you have replica license plates, I don't foresee a problem. Just think how many times has anyone come up to you & asked if your plates are fake or real.

so is putting anything "euro specs" on your car.

I was thinking too, how would they know if it was a good replica?

I see where you're coming from. However, if it is made from the same material, same era, and same plate number how would they ever be able to tell?
I DO have the "old" california state plate, but in our state, you can run all old plate styles as long as you like....

And yeah Ben, that's the exact one.
