    Portable GPS ?????............

Any ideas or anybody ever heard of a GPS system that you can leave in your car monitor where your car is? I heard there is something out there that is small and remote. You place it in the car then you can track it on your computer and remove and use from one car to the other. My sisters son is getting up late at night and using his mom's car. She doesnt mind but she is trying to figure out why so late at night. My opinion is that he is seeing some chick and is waiting for mom and dad to go to bed to tap that .... Her thing is ..........??????

Anyway, she wants to make sure he is not in the wrong part of town with her car. Its her car. I'm good. Any ideas?? Hit me up

    Thanks................g.

Why not just ask the kid? Being honest with him will likely get you a better response than going behind his back and nailing him with incriminating evidence.

When my parents wanted to know where I was going they asked me.
Does that technique not work with today's youth?

Grab a cheap boost mobile phone and install the tracking thingy. Throw in trunk, blah blah blah. Find out where he's going first.. When going in for the night check the ODO and write down the number.

Next day, THEN ask the kid. IF he denies it. Ask why the ODO is XXX Miles higher, and why the cops called about a report on the license plates about a street racing incident.

No harm in collecting data first, and then asking. Choosing the route depending on his truthfulness. It's her car after all.

IF he denies it, make sure to start the subsequent reaming with "Ya know. If you had just told the truth I would'nt have been so disappointed with you. But now that you're lying to me, care to explain the XXXX miles and phone call this morning from the *Insert precinct or metro jurisdiction of his destination here* police?"

Thanks for the input guys. And as always men and women think differently about life. I did talk to him and it was about a girl. So my solution is, I am going to get him a small cab pick um up truck and he can come and go as he pleases within her limitations. It is her car and it is her house. It is not as easy to talk to your kids nowadays as it was when I was his age. Kids now have so much influence. Not just local influence, worldly influence. But thanks for the advice.

            Be blessed......................G.

Lol this. But I would be pretty pissed off if they installed a tracker.

When it was necessary, I did too, but it was rare. But for a kid to be honest, the parents have to be honest too.
In the OP it seems like the mom didn't even talk to the kid. Going behind his back will give him reason to lie tho.
If my parents pulled something like that I wouldn't want to tell them anything either.
I've been living away from my family since I was 17 and they have no way of controlling any aspect of my life, and we are still honest with each other.
You have to make sure mutual respect is present at every moment when raising a kid, then you won't have to "track" where he is going.

And of course sometimes they don't want you to know where they are going or what they are doing. You have to respect their privacy. They have to make mistakes, too. And when they do, they'll learn from it, and if they respect and love you and see the disappointment in your eyes they will not make the same mistake again. And until there is a reason not to trust your kid, you should not doubt him.

Just to note I am not condoning tracking your kid (not that smart phones make that hard these days). Just stating that kids can, and will, lie to your face if they were doing something they know you wouldn't have approved of.
