Chalk up one more to the list...

Seems to also be a popular thing amongst you guys as well but I'm looking to buy my other high school age "dream" car, a jeep to beat on. Looking at TJ models, to be even more specific, looking at "LJ" TJ models. 13 years of living in the south have gotten to me and I needs ma muddin' rig (hopping curbs at the local shopping mall).

I COULD get another bimmer (E46) but then I'd never want to take my dogs anywhere (don't ruin the seats!), I'd never want to drive my car up north for ski trips when there's snow coming in (took mom's 4x4 suv last year), we'd abuse my girl's car on camping trips (loaded it up once this year with dog and everything and it took forever to clean and the front tires even seemed to get out of balance), and lastly I'd probably spend much more money on another bmw than this. Plus, my insurance costs would be more, which I don't need right now.

So... any common problems I should know about? I'm looking at stock everything LJs only at the moment.

    Thanks.

oh and yes, I'd keep my e30. That one is stuck with me for the long haul.

Looking to turbo the m30 as soon as I have purchased a daily driver.

I owned a comanche for a while but I had to sell it to finish my turbo project. Jeeps are awesome. Expect terrible gas mileage and the the ability to drive over or through anything.

I've got a jeep wrangler. It's actually my parents but I drive it weekly. It's a fun car!

Love my TJ about as much or more than my e30vert. Mines a 2000 and the only issue I have had is that it sometimes pops out of gear in 1st. Probably because the kid I bought it from in Indiana beat the shit out of it. It was a salvage vehicle that I partially rebuilt in the beginning.

In summer its a toss up as to which vehicle I will drive.

Pushing big tires can get costly with the amount of gas used , but you dont buy a true Jeep to worry about how much gas it will consume.
