    You may think that a 141 school is like the military, but it is not. I've done both (141 as well as Navy flight school), and there is no comparison. I agree that 141 schools are more focused, and immerse you in the subject matter more thoroughly, but it isn't anything like mil flight school (in terms of expectations, evaluations, attrition, etc). I think that for what they do (train paying civilians to become future professional pilots), they do a good job however.

      I want to go the air guard route, preferably. Flying the lawn darts on the weekends while putting in applications for corporate=my dream

        ANG is a good deal for sure. It's high up on my list of things to do after I get off active duty....OR ANG (my home state) still flies Eagles, which would be a cool gig, close to home, and nearly the same thing that I already do on the active duty Navy side.

          1. get a degree in something OTHER THAN AVIATION. Aviation degrees are stupid.
          2. Dont take out loans, get a job fueling, and GO SLOW
          3. Re-read the last part of #2
          4. DO step #3 again.
