Yeah that was going to be the case. BUT shit changes fast when dealing with the gas patch. I think every contractor on the job was threatened with revolt from all the employees. That they were going home for the holidays whether management and the gas company liked it or not. At 1st it was 5 days off, then 20mins latter after my flights were booked it went to 14 off.

No not really, unless I have been off for a really long time and the general bank accounts are getting skinny and its looking like I might have to dip into savings and retirement investment monies for day to day living. My family does the celebration on Christmas Eve, so we had our usual chili and chicken enchiladas and mas booze.
