Importing a TN car into CA

Does anyone know if one could face CA smog issues when importing a non-CA vehicle into the state?
Looking at bringing back a 92' Mercedes Benz to replace my E30 pretty soon.
However, I'm wondering if it'd be not worth my time...

I've searched for an index, or list of allowable cars to import but have come up blank. Any help with that would also be appreciated..

    Thanks!

I googled "smog issues with importing an out of state car" an first two links.

Looks like you need to make it fit CA standards.

First thing I'd check is the emissions sticker under the hood of it. If it says it meets Cali standards I'm guessing you'll be fine.

If it's a car, in CA, it has to meet CA requirements.

I'm curious, what are the benefits of living in CA that make it worth living with all the bullshit laws for everything that exist there? What makes it worth it?

perfect example for one: I went to the beach on Christmas and got myself a tan.

Okay. On that beach... the only chicks that were there were hot and in bikinis. There is a trickle down effect in play on this one.

                          Truth.

                          1. We've got no smog/emissions/bar/bullfuckingshit tests to pass for our cars.
                          2. it doesn't cost a testicle, first born and 400k+ for a house.
                          3. we get the glass cutter effect in the winter with the ladies ;)

I think our weather/climate alone would make up to anything you can muster up. But please explain this glass cutter effect. It sounds promising.

Because there is more interest living in Cali than my car lol.
