Nice rebuttal, I am using my real name, unlike the many screen names on here...for real though, I was just asking a question,,,if you can't answer it then you must be defending the actions of sleeping with a 14 year old yourself...whatever man...all I'm saying is kids are blowing this kid up like a hero when he did nothing heroic...don't worry, I'll leave your pretty little site alone if you want, blame google for bringing me here an blame him for his character....

look at the screen names on here, blame me for being anonymous, please if I told you where to find me, you just wind up in Kings County...

for real, suicide is for cowards, sounds like dude was up for a bid for child rape and about to be caught for getting a girl pregnant behind his girls back...

Counter strike any of this if you can, cause all I know is what google is telling me, right now it looks like he just a coward and a scumbag.
if you frequent this site often, why dont' u sign in with you real username, not a made-up one?

Grow some balls dude...you seem to be the only coward in this conversation

I'm so sorry for your loss.

My best friend shot himself 21 years ago on Christmas eve. We were as close as two (straight) guys could be. We even married sisters.

To this day, I write to him in a notebook on Christmas, usually just streaming memories. The pain never goes away, but it will get better.

I also have a Tattoo inside my left arm to commemorate him.

    Hang in there!

    Russ,
i am so sorry you have to go through this. Questions will never be answered, things will always be different. Celebrate his life with your old friends, relay his life to your new friends. Keep his memory with you as long as you live, and time will heal some of your grief. But keep in mind you will forever greave. That's what you do when you lose someone you love. Trust me, it isn't easy, and each day from here on out is different. Take a deep breath when it sucks, and be happy when it doesn't.

I once heard a psychiatrist say that each of us are actually 3 different people.
One is the one we choose to show to the world
Two is the one that we show to our family and close friends
Three is the hidden person that lives deep inside us and we do not show to anyone else.

That third person can be really bright and cheery or dark and evil.

Josh had some great insight that was gleaned from stories about people who commit suicide and his perspective was quite uplifting and positive in such times where it is easy to see all the negativity of a situation like this.

Move forward with your head held high as you know your lost friend would want it no other way and would only want the best for you.

I feel for his friends and family. Find peace in the fact that he is no longer suffering from whatever plagued him.

To the rest of you guys, suicide is a very personal decision and no one has any right to judge how senseless, selfish, or whatever else it may be. Also remember that what we know of people, even close friends, is often a small percentage of the reality of their existence. We live in a world where negatives are either avoided or overly publicized. Just look at facebook - all you ever hear is either how awesome or how horrible someone's life is. Distrust in both.

Also, any speculation regarding the direction of his child's life is pointless. It could either turn out to be a positive ot a negative - with neither necessarily being the fault of his late father.

He survived but he did say that on the walk and ride to the bridge all he wanted was someone to acknowledge him with a smile or a hi. On the 15 mins bus ride the 10 min walk across the tourist packed attraction not a single person smile nor said hi for that matter and he went through with the jump. Some people just need support and they need to have hope renewed constantly because everyone has a limit and it varies person to person. We are a pessimistic society and we lack the ability to be nice for no reason on a daily basis. Smile at a stranger once in a while and say hi, goodmorning, or whatever. It will help with situations like OPs friend. Whatever your opinion on suicide whether right or wrong it makes no difference a person lost their life and a board member is mourning.

Russhixmo stay strong bud, like other have said remember the goodtimes and let your buddy live in you through those memories.
    OP: sorry for your loss.

Josh, extremely good post. I agree with what you said. I hate how saying "Hi" to a stranger or being friendly can be taken as being flirtatious/annoying/weird.

When I lived in the Caribbean, there were some villages where if you did not acknowledge people you passed on the street, they would say "Why yuh passin' meh so?" and are offended that you didn't acknowledge them.
