Awesome... maybe the top speed wars will begin again.
That is one crazy ass car, and VW will definitely profit from it in other areas.
And no... the funny car top speeds are not unreal... I use to knock top fuel drag racing because of what I saw at the local drag strip... then I went to a real NHRA event with my in-laws. Holy crap! Absolutely unbelievable... and then to watch them rush back jsut to completely tear down and rebuild the engine in about 25 minutes. The supercharger alone requires 900 to turn, but adds 7500 hp. A friend of mine tried to take pictures of them as they went by the finish line... not a single picture had any hint of a car in it. 340+ mph... and you feel like you are getting kicked in the stomach from the inside of your body when they launch.
