    Free Scooter

    So a friend of mine got this scooter when she got to college and ended up not using it much. About 3 years ago she just stopped using it completely even though it ran just fine. At some point she misplaced/lost all of the keys. I, still being in school and driving a worked/not-so-tuned M20 achieving 15-18mpg at the moment, decided to take it off of her hands.



    This last weekend I ordered a couple of repairy parts: new handguards, key/lock set, underseat bucket (hinge broke), complete engine gasket set, carb rebuild kit, Air filter, spark plug, and drive belt.

    My brother carted it down to richmond from NoVA yesterday in his volvo wagon and I killed all of the spiders living in it and took off all of the body pieces today. Tomorrow I plan of getting the engine off of the frame and breaking that down a bit.


    She's kinda in rough shape but I plan to pimp the FUCK out of this thing, ride it hard as hell and get 70 mpg. One idea I have been toying with is to paint all of the white body pieces flat black and hit it with some hipster-ass neon green/blue/pink splatter. I plan on keeping as many of the original stickers as I can...just can't beat a scooter that says "Super Motor" on the side on it

                I'm pretty set on black. I may keep some of the white but I really want to darken it up.

                I also plan on spraying the rear mudflap with a reflective, clear paint (think license plate spray) to increase my visibility to drivers behind me.

                other than those things, I need a helmet and a new battery. I've already dropped about $150, I expect to drop another $100 for a new battery and a used helmet. I may even bust out the plastic welder and learn how to do that in the next few days...It really depends on whether the parts come in sooner of later.

                            top speed 60 mph
