What is your favorite episode of Top Gear?

My two favorites had to be the episode with Senna at the end, and followed closely with the Jag e-type anniversary one. Both were great from start to finish.

India was terrible, besides hammond picking a fantastic mini. I like how james and jeremy both admitted that he got a great car.

I enjoyed Hamilton driving Senna's F-1 Car. Hammond in the Cinque was sick too. Clarkson in the CSL, Clarkson in the Carrera GT, Clarkson racing Hammond and May in the 612 Scaglietti was great as well even though I think that car is atrocious.

My all time favorite is the Supperleggera, GT3RS, and Aston Martin N24 through the Stelvio Pass though. Any drivers dream.

I always like their English Channel crossing episode, and their US trip across the south.

There is a newer episode where they feature three e30 cabrios. Pretty funny to watch even if they got terrible examples of e30s. Hammond made it clear the e30 m3 is one of his favorite cars, thought that was cool.

There's an episode where they drive a bunch of Bimmers, including an M3 CSL, and E30 M3 and an M1. I might be wrong, but I think they jump an old Volvo too. The cheap Porsche one is a classic, and I also love the episode where they spend 24 hours in a Smart Forfour. And yes, the India special was terrible. Transparently and horribly contrived all throughout the entire thing.

edit: Oh, indestructible Toyota episodes. I could go on for a while so I'm just gonna stop now.

Without a doubt my favorite episode.

I adore TG, but let's be honest: there are far too many over-scripted, super-bombastic displays of "action" that it starts to get repetitive.

When Clarkson cries at the end of that race... that's pure, unfiltered emotion we're seeing. It occupies rarified air in the world of TV. We're so inundated with "reality" TV and melodrama that we're immune to true emotion, and it's almost impossible to come by. That we are able to witness him in that moment is a gift from the producers, in my opinion. I'll bet he wanted them to take it out- but thank god they didn't.

I can only imagine the overwhelming feeling of exultation that accompanies finishing a race like that, you can't write that kind of emotion into TV. It humanizes him- like Christian Bale losing his shit on set of Terminator. We need those moments.

The one where they are travelling across the southern states and almost get stoned to death by locals from teh stuff they had painted on their cars. That's some terrifying shit!!! i sure as hell will never go to that part of the states in my life!
