    Started doing my taxes today...

I'm still waiting for my W-2 from my last employer, but entered the info for my current employer, mortgage interest, etc.

I was looking at my refund going "YEAH!," then I realized once I enter my old employer's info, I'll get bumped up to the next bracket like usual.

    Balls.

I figured up mine to get a ball park from my check stubs and so on as well.

Yeah My tax bill is fucking even more disgusting this year than last. I am probably getting a little back from the feds and paying the state a good chunk of change.

I feel ya man. I am paying more to the feds this year than I have Earned in a year not so long ago....

Haven't started mine yet, but last year I had to pay the feds $1. The state gave me back $51. I increased the amount I pay in taxes so I'm hoping I can get a little back this year.

Yeah, I know I'm giving hte gov't a tax free loan for the year, but I just claim 0 and wait for my check at the end of the year.

Since I contribute to savings/401k etc during the year, I use it as my car "slush fund" to buy goodies with.

Yeah I hate loaning the govt money Interest free as well, but its better than ending up with a huge tax bill, at a time when I normally am off of work.

About 5k coming back to me this year, pretty stoked. Helps pay down my rrsp loan, one step closer to owning a house. Damn the BC housing market, so expensive to get into.

Yep, and getting more expensive every year.
My property assesment went up $88,000 this year alone. Property taxes are killing me and they are going up 3.5% this year.

Right now I'm at $4200 back, but once I almost double my taxable income and go from 15% to 25% bracket, its going be much less.

Getting about $1400 back total. I always claim zero as well. I see it as a savings fund that doesn't require my will power to sustain.
