Financing a car is just plain dumb. You can pay $2000 for a old honda drive your ass to work and sit in the same traffic as someone who paid 80k for a mercedes. I may have to break my rule once when I buy a house, but at least those don't loose value (or at least before 2008 they didn't). What kind of car is it btw?
For some of us that are, you know, car enthusiasts, the idea of sitting in a 2000 dollar honda shitbox every day is a pretty grim one. I've never understood the "complete crapcan" DD. I'd go insane.

Yea, you can buy a car for the cost of your weekly paycheck, doesn't mean you have to.

You dam right, I wouldn't do it either. But before I go into debt, I would ride the shit out of crap box. Also Honda's aren't really crap boxes. I've got my e30 and a TJ. Driving my tj daily is nearly unbearable. Loud, bumpy, hard to keep straight. Recently bought a 95 accord v6 with full history for $1700 with 113k. The Accord is rolls royce compared to my Lifted TJ on 33's (that everyone thinks is so bad ass) and also compared to my e30. Couldn't imagine a better DD and it twas cheap!

Oh and when I was OP's age I drove 95 civic ex 107k $1800. And I was bagging em with the best of them.

Some very good advice in here. If you are not a complete retard you will read everything twice and make the right decision.

          Ding ding ding.

Making the right financial decisions in your late teens vs early to mid 30's can easily add another zero to savings and investments you'll have later in life.

Its not that hard to do. With a little hard work and willingness to make some sacrifices in your life you can make that too and more with out too much trouble. Dont scorn a man for his success.

Sperm bank, they give you cash and you are not tied to a loan. You may get a knock at your door in 20 years but that's the only drawback.

So funny how loans in the US are based on awarding previous debt.
Over here you show your payroll or tax papers. The higher it is, the longer you've been employed, the higher your chances are.
My first car was leased. The burden was tough, but I learned my lesson. Now I save up and buy when I have dough, banks can kiss my ass.
I was just about to pull the trigger on a new DD car, but I'm going to buy a CNC router instead. I can buy a car later when I fabricate awesome shit.

It's awarded on having enough money to get a loan, then having a history of timely payments and not misusing your credit.

The bank gave me $100k for a house, if I default, they won't be giving me another $100k on another house.
