I just dropped my phone in a bucket of coolant.

    No bullshit. That just happened.

I was going to take a pic of something as a reference for when I go to put things back together, and my G2 slipped out of my hand and fell right into the tub that I used to drain the coolant. I immediately pulled it out, stripped off the case and pulled the battery/sim/SD, dried it off, and buried it in a bowl of rice.

The water damage sticker is still white, so I don't know if much water even got inside the back panel, but I'm sure it probably got in the speaker grill, the USB, headphone jack, etc. We'll see how it holds up, but I might have just forced myself into a new phone.

Mine is white, turns red if it gets wet. I pulled the battery out so fast though, there wasn't even any water in that area.

Leave it in rice at least a day and half straight I made the mistake of turning a phone on to soon.

Take it all apart and burry it deep in a bucket of dry white rice and let it sit over night or for atleast a full day before turning it on.

Have insurance on it? Or better yet buy a refurbished one from your carrier if they sell that particular model still.

I wouldn't recommend eating the rice afterward, though.

I do have handset protection, I think my deductible is like $100 or something.

Hoping the rice will work, I really don't want to throw out $100-something right now for another phone.

Well considering coolant is suposed to be anti corrosive and prevent electrolisis you might be in luck.
