    Trainees/Training season

My work just started hiring for the spring and we are the only training facility in the state. I don't enjoy teaching/babysitting these clowns all day but I put up with it with a friendly demeanor. Anyone else get stuck training new people and what are some of the strategies you use not not strangle them.

This group of guys just started yesterday

Yeah I get new guys all the time. Seems about the time I get one trained to where I dont have to baby sit them constantly, management takes them away and send them somewhere else and I am back to square one again...

I normally show them a few times, then let them do it for a while. Then after that, I just let them fuck up for a while, and once they fuck up enough and have to redo things enough they get the hang of it.

Same here, we have a month to show them how to replace as many windshields/back glass/door glass as possible in a wide range of different vehicles, so obviously they can't learn everything about every car but they should be proficient at doing an entire replacement by themselves by week 3. So just when they learn how to do it, they go away to their corresponding shops and we get a fresh batch and back to square one.

There are only 4 guys, one of them seems like a complete tool, hands in pockets, no initiative, more concerned with taking a smoke break than anything. The other 3 seem to be getting it

Yeah I can train a monkey to be a helper in a matter of a couple of days. Most of what they do is pure mind numbing repetition all day move to the next weld do it again. Most of the work I get is simple enough and not much changes. But then I get on some of these fab jobs full of all kinds of fittings pipe sizes wall thicknesses and all kinds of thinking needs to happen to keep things right. This is where the fucking GIVE ME THAT I WILL DO IT you run the watch and the cranks and try to keep from fucking that up.............. Comes in. Good helpers are hard to find, and I dont expect them know everything, as there are times I am still figuring our how to do something myself

Fuck training people square in the ass. Drives me fucking nuts. I swear, whoever my company hires can't learn shit. We have hired 3 people in the past 4 months, and jesus christ they are retards. I literally spend 4 of my 8 hours at work answering their stupid fucking questions. And, had they paid attention when I was training them, they would know the answer and not fucking bother me. "have you updated this file?"

"bitch, I literally have the date updated in the file name, how can you not figure this out?"
