Excel/other spread sheets. Which is best?

I need a new program to make spread sheets. Something like excel...maybe there are other alternatives?

    I currently have no program.

Which one is best? I'm looking for something free.

Office if you can afford it.
Openoffice if you have no money
Google docs if you need to share it with others.

Just download OpenOffice. It's free and does everything Microsoft Office does.

Excel is probably the reason that I have a job right now. Excel and access skills are crucial in today's business world.
