    Assholes on the freeway...(scary story haha)

    Alright, I was doing 70 on the highway (speed limit). Two lanes for right now.

    I am driving and this guy in a 96 F-150 trying to beat the guy in his lane to switch in mine and he doesn't so he switches behind me. (I am in the "fast lane" or passing lane if you will)

    Anyways so I speed up cause I'm fairly quite an asshole when someone else is, to try and beat him to the next car. He switches lanes infront of me without turning on his blinker but putting out his index finger.

    80mph or so. Right when he got into my lane i was real close to him. This asshole slams on his brakes! we get down to like 65mph...oh that is it.

    still two lane highway...

    so when he switches lanes and me passing him i look at him and he is just staring me down . oh fuck noes.

    So now 3 lane highway. I pass him up doing 80mph and now speed limit is 60mph (trust me i would be going the speed limit but this fucker got me pissed) he switches in my lane right behind me. Big MISTAKE.

    I slam on the brakes like he did. Guy switches to the left of me and mouths the words "pull over".

    I was like wtf. so i switch lanes into the slower lane on the right (i was in the mid when i slmaed on the brakes) he pulls in front of me. he starts pulling over . and i said fuck that i switch back over and just keep driving.

    He is basically on the same road as me for like 10 min both of us driving the speed limit.

    WTF.

    fuck, what an encounter. not to be stereotypical or anything, but asshats in big trucks usually carry a bit of testosterone and pride. I had the same thing happen to me except it was an 18year old kid in an eclipse wanting to box me after losing a drag race red light to red light.

      Yea, it was some hick looking fellow. Looked to be like 30+ older than me for sure (18). When i was passing him up and he was eyeing me down he had his tattoos showing and shit...fucker. I wanted to grab my tire foam spray can and just throw it at him

          that BMW roundel sometimes attracts that unwanted attention. Boy have i gotten it from some dumbasses. I never understand though, our e30's are like twenty years old, bought used for often less than $4000. And with an encounter like that... the hate begins all to quickly.

                No offence, but that's your problem right there. If someone is driving eagerly, and trying to pass, why not just let him? That would have ended any issues in the future, no?

                  Yea I know but sometimes you get that urge. I just got off 4 months probation for a small speeding ticket and I shouldn't be pulling this shit already.

                      There is no such thing as the "fast" lane or the "slow" lane. There is a travelling lane (the right one), and a passing lane (the left). In most states(all?) it is illegal to be in the passing lane if you are not passing. That has to be one of my biggest peeves that people don't know that.

                          EXACTLY.
                          I believe it's a law in all states, but Illinois recently revised theirs to state that if you are traveling in the passing lane for more than 1/2 mile without passing, you will be ticketed.

                          My theory of slow drivers in the passing lanes is essentially that they don't have to worry about traffic. Looking ahead, they don't get stuck behind anyone, so they stay over there. Of course, they don't give it the thought that there's a reason why they never get stuck behind someone. This is one of my biggest pet peeves too, I'm an avid right lane driver...usually going 80-85 because nobody around here uses the right lane. All of the sheep are in the middle and left lanes stuck behind each other.
