I started watch One Piece again, I don't have any other anime to watch right now. I am currently on episode 580. I need a good recommendation for a series that is already finished.

Lol, I'm not even starting my 5th decade.
I just had a really cool mom who let me get up at 5am to watch speed racer reruns as a very young child.
A lot of my 40 something friends watch anime still.
Mazinger, Robotech, Speed Racer, Akira, we grew up on that stuff.
I don't think you outgrow it, or should worry about it, rob.
We do what we like, and that's good enough.

Just like my kids enjoy stuff like Princess 9, Stratos 4, Speed Racer, Wangun Midnight, GTO, Macross, (and freakazoid) in addition to current cartoons. One of them likes Bgc 2033, the other BGC 2040, so that's always a coin flip. We were all sad when Tron Uprising ended, bc japanime or not that was a great show, ditto for tartakovskys clone wars. I have to be careful what I watch, because we share anime together, and although some purists hate it, I try to get dual audio when possible, so they can both enjoy it (my youngest just started first grade). We've been watching anime together since they were old enough to toddle around.
Morality plays, love stories, sucess stories, anime to me is just a modern version of fairy/folk tales.

we watched the three Gunsmith Cats episodes over the weekend and they took the manga home on their iPod/iPhones via cloudreader but I was disappointed that I couldn't share Over Rev! because of the sudden graphical sexual content. And from what I understand ditto for initial d manga ie natsuki?

Anyone have any suggestions for thing my kids might actually watch, war, racing, not lame animation, particularly when it is teens or women who are strong characters?
Don't want my boys to grow up gender biased, so anime to me is often a good tool to show strong but feminine characters.

I am 30 I will be 31 in a couple of months. All of my friends give me you are too old for anime speech on a regular basis. And the only people around here that I know who are into anime are teenagers. And I get the funny looks from parents when I say anything about anime, usually when I over hear someone say something. I wish there were more people around here into this stuff, because sometimes I really want to talk about it.

As for recommendations for your kids. "Oh My Goddess", Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld all angels with abilities bailing Keichi out of trouble. "Sailor Moon", group of female freedom fighters. The best female lead anime I can think of is "Claymore" but that is no where near kid friendly. "Usagi Drops" was good, just pray the second season doesn't ever come out or that it isn't based off of the manga. "Aishiteruze Baby" is really good as well, Yuzu is a little girl who is taken care of by her older cousin Kepei and raises her like his own daughter. The little girl is in elementary school. The last one I will recommend off hand is one of my favorites, "Record of Lodoss War". The thirteen episode OVA to be exact. Deedlit is a powerful high elf. It has war, magic and awesome ending. I am just looking over my collection I have and these are the only ones I think may be suitable recommendations for kids. If I can think of anymore I will let you know.

I just started watching jormungand and it is good so far, im only at eps 4. The story so far is about a female arms dealer and her group of bodyguards. They get a new comrade who is a child solider.

There are two seasons of Jormungand. I haven't seen it because I wasn't sure if I would like it or not and then forgot about it. Let me know if it is any good and I will add it to my list.

I am currently watching Blood Lad. I like it so far I am 5 episodes into it. I am looking forward to watching Titan anime, the first season ends the end of this month. A couple others are ending this month I want to watch.
