              I was thinking about getting something for my dad...not as a daily flashlight but something to have around the house. I was looking at the Fenix Tk50

                I have three Intova 2 cell cr123 led dive lights that I love, about 50$, waterproof to something stupid like 400 feet ( rec limits are 130 ).
                I usually have one at the shop, one at home and one in my car. Take them on the dive trips and leave the big dive lights at home as the small LED ones are actually better.

                    Streamlight Stinger LED is simply the best.

                    That's why so many mechanics and cops use them, they can handle a beating.

                      Maglites = ancient tech
                      Streamlight = ok
                      SureFires = overpriced

                        just for comparison, your Streamlight Stinger LED has 180 lumens. :)

                          Then you need a new flashlight.

                          Being said the LEDs on phones do a damned good job. My Evo has the dual LEDs and my girlfriend has one of those cheap 3 LED flashlights and the Evo easily bests it. However, my bespoke flashlight blows the Evo away, as does my headlamp.
                          Im now E30less.

                            The LED light on my Galaxy SII is brilliant! Still not a touch on my Maglite though..
