on my road bike I use a "True Lumens" light. it's 500 lumens, enough for riding the city roads.

Streamlight TLR-1s. And when it's not in the car it's on the Glock.

Can someone esplain to me why a >$100 flashlight is better than the 3 for $20 LED flashlights at Costco? WTF makes a flashlight "tactical"?

Well, my Streamlight can slam on the ground from 10 feet up with no issues. It also comes with 2 rexhargable batteries and option to charge via wall socket or cigarette lighter plug.

120 lumen for 3 hours and then 80 lumen for 8 hours run time on one set of batteries with a single lED.

                    Made in OOOOOSSSSAAAAA

                    works under water

dose not flicker and turn off randomly when they get really cold

can be used as a bashing tool, and still work for years too come

will last years or decades, 20 dollar light from costco prolly not.

your not as likely to lose it when you know how much it will cost to replace

                        I have a Quark 123 and 123*2 4sevens and a 6p LED. I am also a huge fan of the Quark series. The fact that I can lego-build my 4sevens is a bonus too. Can't beat 175lumins in a 3.25in package either.

But am afraid that the light beam is not enjoy concentrated

Currently building one. Using two 18650 batteries and a CREE MC-E emitter. Should be ~700 lumen when done. Here are some pics (though not up to date).

                                Inner battery holder.

Exterior view. The end with the heatsink will have a piece that more smoothly connects the heatsink to the tube.

Tailcap that unscrews. Clicky-switch and spring are mounted in the end. You can also see the heatsink and lens in the background.

As far as too bright goes, the LED driver I am using has high, medium, low, strobe and SOS modes.
