Harbor Freight? Only one I have ever used and it held up an engine as well as it claimed to.

Do NOT get one with 3 wheels. (T shaped).

Way too easy to tip over, especially with an inline 6 engine on it.

I have the T shaped stand, and I will tell you my m20 started to tip and I had the ketch it. I am a big guy and my brother ran out and helped me so no harm was done, but unless you can weld on an extra cross bar up front do not get it. Spending large amounts of time and money on an engine and then seeing it fall over and eat shit is hart braking.
How ever if you can weld or just want to bolt an extra piece of 2x2 square tube up front with some extra casters, the T shaped stand is cheap as it will get and does hold an m20 very well.

I have the T shaped one nobody recommends. On the bright side, my m30 hasn't had an issue with the stand.

get the 4 wheel 1000lb one from HF. Very stable and easy to use.

In a recent issue of Hot Rod, they compared and tested the "cheapy" stands and the 1 ton I shaped one from HF withstood something like 2300lbs of force before the plate that the motor bolts to deformed. Nothing else broke or deformed, which is pretty impressive for an inexpensive stand. I have the I shaped stand and used 4 of the T shaped stands to build my rotisserie, so I can say they work as good as anything else out there at 3 times the money. Catch the T shaped one on sale and that is the best bang for your buck... and spend the money you saved on the motor!!!

Possible/worth it to weld an entire stand yourself?
