You can tell he can't think straight since he's so angry. I'd be livid, too, but making a dramatic video message is kind of rediculous. Then again, it seems like it was necessary to really get through to his daughter.

This isn't a generational thing, or about "kids these days." It comes down to parenting. If this guy was better at child rearing, he wouldn't be dealing with a brat daughter in the first place...

Eh... Spanking is overrated. Our kids get punishment, but i'd never hit them. No need - they're well behaved because we set rules and stick to them. Kids love consistency.. My 2 year old is chilling quietly on the couch with me as i type.

I didnt get spanked as a 2 yr old. I was a quite stroller kid as a 2 yr old. Its shortly after kindergarten and interacting with other children is when the behavior changes. If you don't want to spank that's all good and dandy but honestly some kids need it, like the daught of the guy in the video. Chores like hers aren't even that bad. Make bed, sweep the floor (which is a lot less time consume than vacuuming a carpet).

I'm just saying that some kids need a spanking, mind you a beating and a spanking is different, a sore buttcheek for like 10 mins is different than black eyes and whatnot. Idk I just see kids now a days with iphones at the age of 10 and laptops in middle school. That does not make any sense to me at all, what do 10 yr olds need an iphone and laptop for. And have a 15 year old act like the daughter is shameful. Have a family desktop, because she can do her homework on a family desktop just as fine as a personal laptop.

I wish you the best raising your child, you seem like a very sound minded parent with explicit expectations. Idk how I will be as a parent but I can only hope I do it right when the time comes.

I disagree, its definitely a generational thing. I was part of the first generation of middle schoolers when the cellphone was available and relatively cheap. Now these kids have 400 dollar phones, 600 dollar tablets, 1000 dollar laptops, etc and they have no idea the worth of the dollar. Also, kids now are taught, if a parent lays a hand on you call the cops. I understand if a child is being beaten yes call the cops but kids dont understand the difference, they call the cops in spite of their parents who may have only spanked them like a hand full of time and what happens? Police reports, court, custody issues, possible jailtime, etc.

The kid is lucky she was born a girl. My dad would have beat my ass, kicked me out of the house and said good day. I'm only 21 but both my generation and the generation below me are something else, so entitled and unwilling to put in a hard days work. Dad didn't go far enough.

I never said it was the kids fault, I was disagreeing with you about how it is a generational thing. Kids are more spoiled now than they were 10 years ago. They aren't spoiling themselves obviously.

I stated that I dont see the point of providing a child with a 400 dollar cellphone, tablet, and laptop. Which would imply the parent was to blame for providing such things. There's an appropriate age for things and kids barely in high school don't need laptops just yet.
