Does anyone here know anything about aquascaping?

I'm not really crazy about the fish themselves, but I much more enjoy the fit and finish of the plants, rocks, and driftwood of a properly setup tank.

Better get that aptasia under control, it will overrun your tank and choke out a lot of your nice soft corals

They're not Aiptasias, they're yellow polyps.

Those look like ADA Aquariums. They are very beautiful aquariums mostly featuring a single species fish and simplistic "back to nature" designs. I wish I was this good at making a aquarium lol

One day I will get into salt water fish.

Drift wood will turn the water slightly brownish. Not a big deal, as it is actually good for some fish like south american ciclids. I put a protein skimmer from a saltwater tank in and it helped minimize the discolouring of the water.

I'm bumping this old thread because I'm about to start my new 40x30x17 shallow reef tank and I'm freaking excited !!

Here's the lastest pic of the setup. Tonight I'm gonna start the plumbing. We're planning to swith the stock from our temporary tank to this one next weekend.

Selling a bunch of stuff if anyone needs. 40 gal salt water with overflow/sump set up - I wouldnt bother with the tank itself. But everything else is solid stuff. If you end up needing anything let me know via PM!

some nice saltwater tanks in here. I have a big 100GAL fresh water tank, had lotsa nice plants planted in aqua soil, but my damn Plako fucked them all up....waste of $200.
