SA XD's/XDM's are great guns. As long as you don't have anything against polymer grips or guns not made in the USA, I doubt you'll regret your purchase. I've owned the XD .40 compact and shot an XDM .45 full standard. Both were awesome and never jammed. Made very well and easy to clean. Only drawback for me was the bulky grip on the .45 but I have smaller hands so it's subjective. I'm not a huge fan of the XDM grip tho... They chew up your hands after about 200 rounds. If you're thinking about this gun, you might look at the Sig p250 as well. It will probably be my next sidearm.
