I didn't really like my previous jobs.

My current gig is with a smallish company, owned by a bigger company, owned by a big corporation. And we are poised for growth.

So I'm pretty happy. But it took 5 years and 3 crap jobs to get here.

It's not unreasonable to assume that if you perform well that you'll be able to land a decent job. If I were you, I'd stop serving tables and find a good internship and/or find a relevant place to volunteer in your community to bolster your résumé.

Thats what i was looking for, and this job fell into my lap. My boss seemed a little quirky, but overall like a nice lady...until she became my boss. I'm hoping to land a solid internship this summer through KU.

You should be looking around at the students in your program and taking steps to put yourself in a better position than they are. The job market is much more competitive today than it was just a decade ago.

Who hates their job but needs the money? Yeah, been there a couple of times but the most recent was working on a Frac crew. 16 hour days nights for a month days for a month. I worked it this past Summer during the drought. 115 degrees for 3 hours at a time on a Sand Chief. Then off to set up another stage. I lost 4 pounds the last day of work.

Pay checks were well worth it though weren't they. Its much cooler up here in WV/PA in the summer

I endure both of these situations. People calling me while sleeping almost weekly as well.

Dont you hate that? I tell ya, sometimes its not worth the money. The worse is when you think you're all set and just as you turn off the light the cell rings and you have to go in.
