            I vote late model Ford Focus (mid 2000's). DIRT cheap parts, easily found performance upgrades that are also cheap, as well as pretty darn reliable. Also more fuel efficient than anything suggested on your list.

                          Why? He's right. I may be a bit biased cause I owned an SVT Focus for 7 years, but you would pretty amazed how much fun they can be. Yes they're FWD, yes they're a Ford but put your biases aside and there's nothing wrong with them. Base models can be had cheap, a full SVT suspension upgrade is less than $300. Interior leaves alot to be desired but it's an inexpensive car, parts are cheap and available everywhere. Hell you can find decent SVT's for under $5. I sold mine for $5200 and it was supercharged and incredibly clean, just had 155k miles on it.
