    R3v & penny auction sites.

    Quibids, beezid, bidhere, etc.

Do you believe in them? People who lose the auction say it's a scam...

    R3v insight?

You pay for every bid you place. They end up with well over the value of the item in paid for bids, someone ends up with the item.

You lose the auction, you could have just spent potentially over the value of the item in bids and end up with nothing.

I'd say people just don't understand how it actually works/didn't read the fine print.

As to any behind the scenes shennanigans by the websites themselves? No idea.

It's a bunch of bs, you end up paying regular price at the end.

I've been following quibids and if you don't win the auction, all of the money you spent on the "bids" can be put towards the same item at a buy it now price.

So basically if you really want the item you aren't losing money at all. You're just taking a chance at buying it for a lower price. If you lose...sure you spent money on bids that basically did nothing, but all the money you spent on those bids goes towards purchasing the same item at a retail price.

I thought about taking a gamble but decided it wasn't worth it. You can save time and money by ebaying that kind of stuff.

If you don't want to put the time into and have the nerve then don't even bother. For Quibids my buddy would buy a bunch of bids and then essentially use those lower priced bids to throw away at an item. He got a golf club set that he sold for 700 dollars profit. You might win one or two but you will lose many.

I signed up for the beezid. I tested it out, and it looked pretty legit. pretty much have to keep bidding until you win the item. In other words, not sleep, specially if it's about to end. Also, you have to buy you bids, (ex. $40 for 100 bids). I almost won an item but ran out of bids.

Yep, so basically you have to be persistent or you lose every auction.

It's just like real life auctioning.....going once, going twice, somebody else bids..price rises, going once, going twice, someone bids..price rises, etc etc etc.
