my speech project

just thought id share my topic for my first speech in speech 101.
we have to do an "informative speech", so i thought it'd be great to inform my class about the one and only rusty slammington, but with a twist.

with a twist you ask!

yes, instead of spitting out facts and pictures, im going to tell the story in first person. reffering to mike as my pops and a few other illusions.

i dont present till saturday(9am morning 3hr class, i know it sucks), but am so excited about this projected i had to get it out there.

never give a speech on how an engine works. worst grade i've ever gotten. give speeches knowing your audience has an IQ of 75-80. Using big words like engine oil and timing chain confuse too many of the students and teachers. best grade i saw given in a speech class was on boob jobs. srsly she worked at a place that did implants and brought in samples.

seriously? I spent 2 years as a Comm major and have given plenty of speeches. Your class/teacher will not relate nor give a damn about a rusty slammed BMW. Im sure you are passionate about it, and will do well. But without any real journal articles, real research, or historical context to your topic you will do poorly.

Do something on German cars and their safety Vs. American cars, or vehicle longevity and do BMWs. I have given a speech on the toyota prius and its negative impact on the environment. I advise you find something that interests you but also has academic/research journals written about it so you can cite them for credibility.

You seem to be confusing "informative" with "persuasive"

he can inform people on German car longevity. He can inform people on the prius's negative environmental impact. Any time you give a speech you need ethos, and credible sources greatly attribute to it.
