Spark Notes*
1. Cut a lanyard deal with Matt
2. 10 lanyards for $36 of his dollars and a free shift and e brake boot shipped
3. He was banned, I politely told him I wanted to withdraw from the contract
4. I couldn't refund the money right away because I transferred it all when I shipped the orders
5. I get a paypal dispute from him
6. Will the dispute negatively affect my account?
I know the guy was banned and this is a bit of a vent/rant with a question. He pm'd me during the lanyard sale and asked if I would offer a discount on 10 lanyards. I messaged back and said I could do 10 for $36 and a free shifter and e-brake boot shipped to me. We would both wait until the lanyards were in and then ship items at the same time. He sent me the $36 and that was that.
A week or two passed before the lanyards were in and when I received them I did up his package and checked in on his group buy thread; turns out he was banned. After reading back through a few pages it seemed as though the quality of them had gone downhill and he was ignoring customers. Because of this I sent him a message and said I had to back out of the agreement because of the commotion he was involved with on the forums, plus he was banned (he made a new account to contact me, looks as if it's also banned). I said I would refund the money and even send out a black and white lanyard, free of charge, because I was backing out.
I transferred all of the money out of my paypal the day I shipped everything out. All of this happened a few days after and I let him know that I did not have the $36 in the account because of that. I also said that was another reason I was giving him two lanyards. He responded and said
It seemed like a harmless reply and things would go okay. I return from the gym tonight and check my email to see that I have been hit with a paypal dispute charge for the $36. That kind of pissed me off. I don't think I was in the wrong. I didn't have the funds to send back but I fully explained the situation to him, gave him a gift as an apology and replied to all pm's within a day.
What a piece of shit that kid is. Matt, if you're reading, it's time to take step back and have a reflection period of what an asshat you are.
Onto my question, Will the paypal dispute have any negative effect on my account for future transactions? I'm transferring money to my account now but because I'm in Canada, eh, it takes 5-8 business days which is horse shit. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to leave a bit of "feedback" for him.
