    Infant Car Seats

For those that have kids and drive a 2 door e30, do you have any problems fitting a car seat in the back. I am expecting my baby girl in 4 months and have been looking at car seats lately. Any recommendations?

Congrats! My baby boy is due in 2 months. Brittax and Peg Perego are the top rated manufacturers. No experience on fitting one in the e30 though, I wont be putting my kid in there. I'm eye balling a nice recaro baby seat for when he hits 6 months and wont fit in the infant one. :)

In the beginning its a bit difficult with the rear facing models but still very do-able, later on after the first year it so much easier because of forward facing seats. I had no problems with either one and I have a vert which is a bit smaller.

I used a Eddie bauer model with was awesome and provided great support for the baby. My favorite is the air models though. They inflate to keep the babies head supported. Also britax is great

i have a rear facing recaro babyseat in the back seat of a coupe. It works.

I cant wait till my son is a year and I can face that seat forward. Only issues would be the sun and lights at night. Those two being to bright at times.

Get a four door. Your wife might be "cool" with it, but really, she's not.

if you face a baby out the back then get hit in the back wouldn't they whiplash towards the rear window? Why no face towards front? do you plan on hitting cars?

Wouldnt I need to get one of the car seats that you can take out and carry the baby around in?

Your gonna hate life with a 2 door e30 and a rear facing infant car seat.

Most of them have a base. This portion actually mounts to the car via seat belt or latch system. Then you take the actual seat portion out, and just plug it into the base when placing kid in car. The bases are expensive too. Like 60 bucks in itself. Had to buy 1 for each car, so I didn't have to fool with installing it each time.

More likely someone cuts you off than rear ends you. That's where the law came from.

But a lot of the car seats I have been looking at dont have something to hold onto such as a handle to carry it around.
