    Insurance ?

So, being a youngster.. Im kind of a noob with insurance. I know a little bit about it. Im getting quotes today, I got a quote from geico for 147.50 a month, no comprehensive or collision.. A few of of my older friends were saying, "lol fuck that, thats a lot for no comp/collision". I know prices will vary depending on location and stuff, but my older pals were saying they have lower rates than that. . with their e30s. SO school me r3v, what do I need to know? how can I get lower rates, or am I just going to be fucked by the insurance companies.

It's "statistics", buddy. When I was 17, I was paying over $300 a month for full coverage on a 4-cylinder Foxbody Mustang. It was bullshit, but in Florida's shitty and unpredictable drivers, that's just the way it goes.

I'm 24 now and I pay $190 for both my Navigator and E30. Both full coverage.

Here's another tip: shop around for insurance and don't get speeding tickets. I got so tired of paying out the ass for insurance because of points on my license in a very short amount of time.

Try USAA. I have them. If your parents are veterans (or even your grandfather), you should be able to get in without any hassles. They have been pretty good to me.

Your limits are WAY low, you want to bump those up once you can afford to. Talk to your agent, higher coverage is probably $5-10/mo more and is well worth it.

I think it's a function of being 18, 'sporty' car, and high population density area.

I pay 186 every six months, I get my grandparents discounts, multi home and multi car.
We go through state farm, it's my own policy but since they were my guardians i kind of get away with having some free discounts. I have four points and i'm Twenty.

                  I'm 22, with a terrible record, all tickets, no accidents. I have full coverage on both a 1995 M3 and a 2003 330i.

                  I pay $154 a month.

                  Come at me bro.

Ok.. so would recreation (pleasure) driving be cheaper than to/from school, work, errands?

USAA is really cheap. I pay $80/mo on my 2003 e39 with high limits.

I pay about $180 a month for liability on my alpine car. It will go down a little bit once I turn 18, but I still have a little less then a month. I also have no tickets or accidents.
