i would take the lump sum anonymously, hire a damn good tax lawyer, hire a damn good (read=safe) investor, and invest 99% of it in various locations with the dividends distributed across various swiss banking institutions.

the remainder i would take to just kick it. move to a sunnier place, work on my car with no budget, help my parents and sister out, and get a job as a construction worker to spend my days cause i like building things and being outside.

A conversation I just had with my buddy I work with:

Me:Clancy what would you do if you won?

Clancy: Oh, you wouldn't be able to get a hold me.

    Me: Why's that?

Clancy: Because I'll be under a pile of bitches.

Move to a country with good tax benefits ( monaco, ....)
    Get a good lawyer.
Pay a good guy to invest money for U, and he gets 10% of the profits. He will work for that money like no tomorrow. Money makes money.
Build a new house on a stunning location ( swimming pool, large garden, track ... )
Underground garage for a nice collection of cars
Garage bay fully equipped for my wrenching pleasure
Travel the world when we feel like it
Give my family a bonus ( just to take the pressure off, not to make them retire )
Don't donate to charity, but give the money myself in person. ( too many stories of how 1000 dollars ends up in a mere 100 dollar in the end when it arrives , cut out the middlemen)

    Enjoy every bit of it.

I honestly don't know what I would do. With that amount, you would have so many options, it's not even funny.
