Today on the way back from lunch I "attacked" my buddy with my LukeBox. What do I mean by this? I rolled down the windows and blared Loverboy's "working for the weekend", followed by Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up." Needless to say, he was quite embarrassed but I loved it - I love the sound of 80s music in my coupe. Previous victims have also been hit with Europe's "final countdown" and Billy Idol's "Rebel yell.". Does this method of torture make me an asshole? I can't honestly say i give a fuck. It's the simple things that make life worth living. Anybody else have stories of LukeBox related mischief?

My friend Ingo loves it when I crank up some Hoff (DU) in the car if I am giving him a ride home from the bar. It gets worse when his wife Cordula is in the car and he sings it to her, much to her dismay.Last edited by der affe; 03-30-2012, 07:54 PM.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen

Blaring Journey always makes for a good day.
I've got a post office lady driving one of the trucks swaying to Hall and Oates at a traffic light once. That was pretty funny. We built this city is another good one to mess with the guys blaring rap. Somehow it just cuts right through it.
(Can't wait for may and what will be the lukebox extravaganza)

Some buddies of mine and I used to troll the cruising strip on Friday and Saturday nights. Everyone would be playing loud ass rap from their lowered eclipses or the rednecks blaring country from their lifted trucks, and we would roll through in a stock corolla with "What is Love" on repeat. Unfortunately the sound in my e30 is so bad right now I can't partake in these lols.88 325is - S52 powered

My brother is an army ranger stationed in Georgia and has gone off the redneck deep end. He's the only person I know who can run a 4 minute mile, wears cowboy boots and belt buckles and has a Dixie tattoo. When he returns home to suburban Oregon next month I will hit him with "Hit em 'up" by 2Pac and a few other rap classics. I've been dreaming of this moment for weeks."Wow. We're just blowing through nap time, aren't we?"

I was born in 1980, I listen to 80's music all the time, I see this a quite normal other than the Rick rolling. I hate that ass hats music.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

Y'know, since the design is basically just a logical extension of acoustics and physics applied to a car via high-quality materials and craftsmanship, it seems the phenomenon should be more common...but so few car stereos sound enough like actual music, you just can't really enjoy real music with them.
Basically, noting but Lil Jon sounds good, so they all listen to that stuff.
However, I am known for rolling up to a bar blasting Kutt Calhoun or Tech N9ne. EDIT: Can't forget Chali and J5. No J5, you might as well get some fucking headphones and a bus pass.
Figure this: you got a chunky, bald, damn near 50 year old white dude in glasses rolling up in a shiny, low, black E30 with big crazy-loud stereo rocking "The Beast" from good ol' T-nizzle...well, lets just say the car is easily recognized.
I do clearly remember driving on I-405, headed to the picnic in a caravan. I was rocking "BAD" by MJ. We got to the meet and Derek comes over to tell me he could hear the music clearly...on the freeway at 75MPH.
Great thread, thanks Aardvark!

Was listening to Grandmaster Flash in '81, bought "Paid In Full" when it was brand new and grew up listening to all the classic old school jams when they were new, can still pick a sampled bass riff out of anything new from a mile away.
Would it be better if I were rocking M.C. 900 Foot Jesus? Love that shit too, but you are way more likely to hear Jonny Adams than any of that stuff coming out of my car these days, or maybe some O.A.R.
OK, maybe some Clash. Um, maybe some Clapton too, or hell, Manhattan Transfer or Glenn Miller while we are talking real music...but yeah, I been a fan of Tech since "Einstein"
