So, take the SAAB with 1mil miles on it. Figure up how much was spent on it after it hit the normal lifespan (say 200k miles?). Add that up, and see what NEW car the guy could have bought and enjoyed instead of that shitty old SAAB.

Impressive, but the amount of money to keep one running gets ridiculous...I can only imagine what he spent on that damn SAAB.

The M20 I'm rebuilding right now had 360k miles on it, still in terrific shape.

I have heard of Cummins 6BTs going up to around one million +, the only thing is that Dodge truck bodies are so shitty. They fall apart before the engine gets close to the end.

Honestly I was expecting more than 576k miles.

That's a fair amount of miles, but there was a story in Sport and Exotic car a couple months ago about a guy who was the original owner of a volvo (forget the model) that had over 2.1 million miles on it.

He had replaced the engine twice, trans 3 times, full respray four times. Car was great looking and he loved it so I think the money was well spent to keep it alive all those years. He now does press events for Volvo, they pay him to drive it more!

Isn't this article from like 4 years ago? I know it says 2012 on the date but I call bullshit. I swear I saw it a long time ago. I can't forget that little grandma hanging out the window.

there is an m3 owner in idaho who has over 500k on his e30 m3.

                            Orignal engine.

Visible at bmw rallys but never the internet. Regularly commutes from seattle to idaho.

Im sure theres pictures of it.

                            edit
