I fail to see how that makes PC owners angry.
See, my computer looks nothing like that. That's the beauty of PC's. You can build them however the hell you want, put linux on it, and whip any Mac's ass.
And in the end I'll take OSX.
I did the PC thing long enough, which is why my primary machine is a Dual G5 2.7 and Powerbook 12 1.5.
It is just you. If you are still using a 6 year old laptop then you should use that worthless pile of rotting dog shit for target practice and buy a mac laptop.
It browses the web, does word prossesing/powerpoint/excel, plays itunes and videos just as well as my desktop. Yes thats right i can play movies without having some shitty quicktime that is slow and never works. I can take pics and record videos with the build in camera too. some pile of shit

oh no you di-int gina...
I also have a problem spending the same amount you can purchase an s50 for on a desktop...
I built my pc an initial cost of $700, and upgrade it as I find the necessity... Every part in my computer has been replaced at least twice in the last 6 years... but its all gradual, the most expensive purchase I ever have to make at once is a CPU/MOBO/RAM, but most of the time any more the ram transfers over, so its really just CPU/MOBO.
I like that factor about PCs... Once they're a few years old, they're not just paperweights. Take the first iBook for example.
is it me or do pc's last a lot longer then macs? i have a few friends who have mac laptops and they always have problems. Im still using my sony vaio c1 thats only 10" x 7" and my dad bought off ebay 5 or 6 years ago
I had my last mac for 6 years. The only reason it died is because my old apartment had some strange power issues and eventually toasted the hard drive.
Macs also hold their value much better than PC's. Some old macs, like the SE/30's are actually collector's items.
nickmp0wer, is your screen really that small, or is the picture fucked up. Because that thing is damn small.
Ben, tell everyone your G5 setup...that'll make the PC'ers shut up.
the screen is 8.9" 1024x480
and about computers holding their value, my dad picked up my laptop for around 1000 on ebay 6 years ago. He may have gotten a good deal, but they are still going for that now

The high dollar powerbooks tend to hold up allright, the cheaper low end "i-books" (or whatever they call themselves now) are junk. Most of the mac-zealot friends I have tend to go through 2-3 warranty replacements on them a year.
I'm at year 3 on a refurb dell laptop as my all purpose throw-around box, no issues.

IBook G3's are CRAP, Logic Board failures every 6 months.
IBook G4's are looking really good right now, my friend beats the shit out of his and its still holding on.
