I agree with The Volta. The hit Torres laid on Hossa was about as clean as they get. He did leave his feet and I am sure that will be taken into account.
On another note, what an impressive run by the Penguins tonight! Rinaldo is going to get a little punishment as well for his 3rd period shenanigans.Leave a comment:

Hockey is ugly generally in the play-offs. Sad but it's always been the heated time. Career ending hits are taking place and I don't blame the league for making serious suspensions.Leave a comment:

Being a Coyotes fan I don't think the hit was that bad but with Torres record he is going to get fucked.
He primary left his feet because of momentum, I don't think he really at the intention to injure him but he is a hard player and is going to finish his check. I hope Hossa is alright but it's funny hearing all the Blackhawk fans complain about dirty hits when they had this gem during the regular season.
Then they also have the balls to complain about the obvious hit to Smiths head and calls him a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.
If the league want's to get rid of hits to the head, then they should be more consistent with their rulings. I know its playoff hockey and shit gets real out on the ice, but they give out suspensions on injuries and that seems pretty silly. \\\
TLDR
They should get rid of bad hits and be more concrete on the rulings and not just dish them out because someone got hurt.Leave a comment:

I wouldn't be surprised if torres gets buried with a huge suspension. maybe it'll help straighten his game out. all this guy does is cheap shot/look to injure other players whenever he can. as much as i hate matt cooke for ending marc savard's career, i hope torres can follow suit and clean his shit up.1 game for Torres? No way, he'll get 5+. Ovechkin got 3 for leaving his feet when there was no injury on the play, and not considered a repeat offender. Torres is considered a repeat offender as he gave seabrook a concussion last year for an equally stupid play.
I can't believe Neal only got one game. Leaped into the head of Couturier (after the play,) then elbowed Giroux in the head later on. Plus Weber only getting a 2,500 dollar fine for slamming Zetterberg's head into the glass? Shanahan sucks.Leave a comment:

I don't know, with all the flak Shanny's been getting from the media, I suspect Torres will get the book thrown at him.Leave a comment:

Not late. It was probably less than a second after hossa last touched the puck, without slow motion which makes it look much longer.
jumped and skates left the ice. flailed his arm at the end, which caused his elbow to hit up high on hossa and get his upper body to hit the ice at a fast speed.
My conclusion, with the new rules in place for high hits and leaving your skates off the ice, 1 game suspension for torres. not sure is shanny decided yet or not.Leave a comment:

ive never been a fan of torres since he was on the canucks, but this definitely looked like he left his feet.
on the other hand, the hit wasnt from behind, hossa just happened to not be paying attention and was at a bad angle (leaning forward making his head even lower).
conclusion: torres knew what he was doing.
also, sharks are going to win the cup. fact.Leave a comment:
