I'll defer to Doug Hayashi on this one:

"Winston Churchill said something like, "When you are 20 years old, if you do not believe in socialism, you have no heart. When you are 40, if you are not a capitalist, you have no brain". Mac/Open Source folks: repeat that phrase 3 times, remember it, and call me on your 40th birthday. Then we can look back and discuss what a moron you were when you were younger. Surrender now, and get a life. The war is over, you had your chance back in 1989. You have been assimilated, some of you just don't realize it yet. "

    Firefox sucks.

So Because you cannot get Firefox to work correctly, and because it does not work with your companies infastructure, means it sucks?

        Good one.

And for the record, I'm an IT Manager for a decent size 3 node Windows LAN, Everything From AD to Great Plains, From CRM to Cisco I work with. And I still stand by the fact that Firefox is a superior browser.

As far as I'm concerned, yes.

          It's a kiddie browser.

How the hell is it a kiddie browser?

I am TRYING to figure out your logic here.

Its another browser, made by Microsoft.

The only reason IE works great with those Enterprise apps is because, well, lets name CRM, Sharepoint, etc for example..they are also, kinda made by the same Company that wrote the Browser.

Most of the world does not know what CRM even is, or Great Plains, or any other IE taylored application.

I switched all my friends, as well as most of my family members over to firefox, and I never get spyware phonecalls, I never need to assist them with anything anymore, because they cannot click YES to everything.

Internet Explorer 7 is looking good, I admit that, and has a redesigned mshtml engine, which has sped it up ALOT, and i'm really looking forward to final builds, but I cannot honestly see, other then dealing with horrible coding and enterprise apps that 25% of home users even KNOW about, make IE a better overall browser.

Plus I want my tabs damnit!:tsk:

I think it's funny the fact that I mentioned that I don't like a certain peice of software has inspired a holy war and snagged the exact people I expected it to snag.

I use linux w/ firefox. When I'm on windows, I use firefox. Mine was running slow untill I modified some stuff, now it runs faster. I think IE is a kiddie browser, it's easy to use and requires no configuration. But jesus, how can you live without tabbed browsing?

My thoughts exactly. Windows has always been meant to be idiot-proof, as are all of their components. It almost seems like it was created for people who just can't be bothered to go in and figure it out, and how to make it better. I think of it the same way I think of the average person with their car. They just want to get into it everyday, start it up, and drive. They can't be bothered with learning how to maintain the car, take care of it, and make it work for them. FireFox is great because it has so many options available to those that know how to go in and tweak thins to make them run better, and perform faster.

And how CAN you live without tabs?

LOL, IE is definately the kiddie browser. People use it because all they know is Windows and the software that comes with it like IE. I used IE for years without knowing better, when I switched to Firefox I felt enlightened because I was one of the few who had come out of their little box and found something better than that hunk of garbage that is Internet Explorer. I am happy to see that more and more people are coming out of their boxes and using alternatives to IE and other Windows based software. And as for Apple, their market share is the highest it has ever been and is growing.
