    98 honda Passport question

My girlfriends car has a sealed transmission, and she asked me to changed the fluid in it. How do i go about doing that? I've never worked on a car with a sealed transmission. I've tried to find it somewhere else on the internet, but i get 30 different ways to it.

I know this is an E30 site, but I'm sure someone here has worked on Honda's before.

Try looking up how to change the fluid in an Isuzu Rodeo.

            Lifetime oil.

Don't mess with that shit. Honda engineers are getting paid to do this shit. They obviously know what they are doing, like BMW, with their lifetime fluids. Shit don't break down. Who the fuck came up with that? Oil companies?

Sealed transmission are the worst idea ever, makes me shudder just thinking about them...

I worked at a local shop that worked on nothing but BMWs for a little while. BMWs new thing about oil that last 15000 miles is total bullshit. I opened the heads on some e90s and e92s and the engines look like theyve got 200,000 miles on them, when they got about 100,000. I had an e28 in there on the same day and the engine looked better!
Only reason BMW does that is because since they offer the warranty, its on their dime, so theyre stretching every penny possible. They havent engineered "super efficient" engines that make oil last longer. Oil was pretty thin too when it was drained. We always put nothing but 10w40 in every car. seems to be the best oil for the cars we worked on. It even shut up some of the knocking on an m20 engine ;)
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

                    Here's one we opened up:

                    "Running Rough" ('03 BMW 325, 86k mi.)

Customer followed BMW's recommended oil service interval of 15,000 miles. Note solidified oil in the head. BMW should be ashamed, but they are not. Are you 'gellin?

That is not lifetime fluid. It takes mercon III.

I had the return line from the cooler blow out on my 97 rodeo..that thing had the same body as the older rodeos but i believe shared the drivetrain with the 98's. Once i had the lines tightened up there was a little fill plug that you "fill till fluid is flush with bottom of the plug". I'd assume you can just siphon out what you can from there and just refill...

I fucking wish...my frame was swiss cheese in 2007 right around when toyota started doing frame recalls...never heard a thing about rodeo/pilots
