So I have a 3 month old little boy, awesome as can be. Name is Rex Evan Willet. Went to an event that had my wifes parents and my mom there, and shes acting all sketch. Called my son Ralph. Get a call yesterday where she goes off, says that my wife and her mom were talking behind her back all night, and that she hates the name Rex. She apologized for calling him Ralph, and now wants to call him Evan.
What the hell is up with that? My mom has always been socially awkward, the type that would put words into your mouth, and then you have to convince her you never said that, etc. But really, 3 months after the fact and now she hates the name?
Anyone else ever ran into this kinda thing? I'm thinking there are 2 roads to take. Concede and let her call him Evan, but I'm thinking that would cause problems down the road. The reason she doesn't like Rex is because someone made fun of it (Dog/Dinosaur) when she was talking about him at work.
Option 2, stand up and demand that she respects my son and call him Rex, or not at all :hitler:. We've got a family trip planned in 2 months to introduce him to my moms side of the family in Jersey, so I'm hoping to squash this soon. Any advice?
