oh boy the joys I get to enjoy next semester, oh wait I'm going to take it during the summer from a community college. Here at my school we get 3 hour labatories tacked on with the Calc. classes, no way I'm doing that:blowup:

AP Calc... offered in my highschool was only equivalent to Calc1 in College.

Unless if you took Calc at a community school, I dont understand.

AP Calc BC was the highest offered around my school.

Calc 2 was my worst class. However, you should understand it because you will be using it the rest of the time (for engineers at least). Calc 3 = Cake, same for Differential Equations.

Calc 1 and 2 in HS. I tested into 101, 103, or 131 in my Community College. Took 204 (calc 2) passed with a B, got 12 math credits for one class.

i made it to calc in my junior year of highschool, then didn't take any math as a senior.

When I took the math placement test for my community college, i ended up in intermediate algebra. Guess i shouldn't have skipped a year of math and forgotten everything.

Took calc junior year and AP stats senior in high school for me

I went to prep school though, and was only average.

yeah, talking about BC, 4+ on both = cred for calc 1 & 2 at purdue (MA 165, 166 here). (AB is only equivalent to 1 semester of calc though.) I was able to go right into 261 (Calc III, multivariate calculus). And that is the end of the line for calculus for my major.

to the kid without a driver's license, my math e-penis is so big it could poke your eye out
and i have as many credits awarded to me as I have actually earned in 2 semesters.

Taking calc in high school can be a bad idea... for the very reasons you experienced. Its hard to apply calc in the high school environment. In college, you're learning a math/science/engineering major, and taking other classes that calc is directly applicable to.

FWIW, I only went as far as Pre-calc in high school... took all my calc at the college level. Certainly it was harder to learn in college than high school, but I wouldn't have been able to apply calc as well if I took it in high school.

AP classes are over-rated. Once you get to college, no one cares what you did in high school, or how long you spend in college.
