    Thanks for the tips everyone - the advice to walk if the seller won't agree to a PPI is a good one. But what assurance do I give them that I won't be running of with their car?

                Nada quides is starting to get a pretty good grip on the e30 market. first time I checked was 6 months ago and it was ~$2.9k for a 91 e30. 6 Months down the line they now value them at ~$3.2k last time I checked

                  I book BMW pre-purchase inspections every day, what happens 90% of the time is the buyer agrees with the seller on a time and books the appointment, then the seller drops the vehicle off and picks it up after we're done. The buyer pays the bill in full, and in turn gets exclusive rights to the information. Works really well.
