sup.
my friend has a 1992 Audi 100S which was basically the fucking shit back in the days, $80,000 retail value or something like that.
now a junkyard will be the top dollar buyer for it. mechanically its a fucking tank, for more than 15,000 city ONLY miles (he's a delivery driver) my friends put on it, it has never let him down and he's done literally no maintainence on it. it has a timing belt which god knows when it was changed. the interior is shit and crumbling apart (though a really comfy quiet ride) and the exterior is shit as well. but anyway we regard this car as completely fucking unstoppable with no hesitation to drive it anywhere, and while its valueless, it simply holds its own worth by being so unstoppable.
that being said, we're planning a roadtrip to california from jersey in it. No extra maintaince done, no timing belt change, nothing, MAYBE an oil change. the plan is, if it makes it, that would be awesome. if it doesn't, whereever it dies we would simply leave it on the side of the road for a junkyard to buy it and take a plane back to jersey. money aint a problem and i've never left the east coast.
discuss if this is relatively cool/undoubtedly stupid/ a cool story
