    Anyone paleo and/or do crossfit?

Just curious...I've been paleo for going on 3 years now, found it at a Crossfit gym. Love both.

You guys ever heard of the murph?
Not sure if I'm insane enough to try it.

Yeah...I'm not strong enough to do that yet. Wouldn't get through the pullups (unless I was kipping or butterflying, and I can't do that at home...no room).

I did Crossfit for about 2 years, then switched over to strength stuff primarily. I want to be able to do all the workouts as rx'ed instead of doing *gasp the girls weights...or worse.

I'm just finishing up doing an intermediate Starting Strength program (was doing paleo + gomad if you're familiar) and put on a bunch of unwanted fat. No biggie then, the calorie surplus helped me make linear progress on my numbers for months...but we're headed to Hawaii for 2 weeks next month and I want it gone...plus we're doing Tough Mudder in Sept and I need to get some metabolic conditioning back.

So I'm switching over to doing strength stuff still, but doing Crossfit workouts afterwards. It has completely cut off my top end strength numbers (caloric deficit isn't helping, and it's hard to get 200g protein a day in without liquid assistance), but my metabolic conditioning is coming back.

Did a modified Fran today and thought I was going to die. Pretty sure the neighbors were concerned.

5 rounds for time: 9 95# thrusters, 9 dead hang pullups, 200m sprint. The thrusters were ok surprisingly, did them unbroken. My pullups are going to shit, but I just have no motor any more. I was winded after the first round and on the verge of puking afterwards. 18:32, sadly enough. But I'll get it back quickly.

Incidentally, one of my old trainers is competing in Regionals next weekend (NorCal), finished 6th in the games last year. She's a beast! I thought of her doing the workout I just did in under 4 minutes and it made me sad face.

I train at the gym for aesthetics, not to lose weight.

Also, I think the Kipplin pull up is the most useless workout ever created. I do real widegrip pull ups and it develops nice lats.

Ive added weight doing crossfit, about 18 lbs over the last year natural while cutting body fat. (close to about 12 percent atm) The kipped pull-ups will also build nice lats. You would be amazed.

This is our workout tomorrow, I do RX.

Warmup 10 mins of Double Unders, for max count with out breaking cycle.

                DT
                12 dl
                9 hang cleans
                6 push press
                5 rounds for time

O no doubt you can put on weight with crossfit. Gaining is 70% diet anyway.

I used to do crossfit when I wrestled. Best conditioning by far. The year we incorporated crossfit into our team workouts we got 1st in league.

1st year we incorporated Crossfit into rugby practice. We got 1st in D-II in VA and 3rd in the Mid-Atlantic region. Results don't lie

                        I follow a paleo/keto lifestyle.

I don't do crossfit 100% since I can't adhere to the schedule but I incorporate the exercises into my workouts.

BTW, in before all the diet elitists from the other thread invade this one.

I used to do a boxing conditioning/cross fit, it was pretty brutal. Unfortinately I got used to it in just under a year and there was no real way to make it a challange after that.

I am not a huge cardio fan, so this was jusy a more interesting way to do it. It got to the point were I would do the spin class, boxing cross fit and lift for an hour all back to back. That was taking too much of my time though and I have not been back since my last two surgeries.

Crossfit seems legit, I may try it out this summer.

I haven't had time to really workout this semester besides kickboxing. I don't really follow any workout plans though. I do a mix of free-weights hitting a couple areas of the body each day, I do a good run/bike ride before or after weights, then finish with swimming. Perfect summer workout. (And of course wrenching on the 280Z can become a good workout when trying to remove 35 year old studs :D)

There are way too many other factors that may have contributed to your win, besides doing crossfit. I am not saying crossfit isnt a very good program for most people, but you can't say your victory was because of it.

The first year I started weight training i made first team all conference for lacrosse, but that doesn't mean it was because of the weights. It was more than likely because I practiced the sport a lot.
