First real SpaceX launch tomrrow to the IISS

If all goes according to plan, tomorrow, Saturday, May 19th, SpaceX will become the first commercial space flight company in history to head for the International Space Station. You can watch online, live, at SpaceX.com starting at 1:15 AM Pacific / 4:15 AM Eastern / 08:15 UTC. You can also follow SpaceX founder and CEO @elonmusk on Twitter. He'll live-tweet from mission control during launch.

    Spacecraft: SpaceX Dragon
    Launch Vehicle: SpaceX Falcon 9
Target Launch Date: May 19, 2012
Target Launch Time: 4:55 a.m. EDT
Launch Site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.
This mission is a demonstration flight by Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, as part of its contract with NASA to have private companies launch cargo safely to the International Space Station.

It may have aborted, but the safety systems worked in the way they were supposed to. I'd rather it abort here on the ground than something go wrong once it's rocketing to space.

I'm glad I get a second chance to see them try it again on Tuesday though. I didn't wake up early enough to drive up there this morning, but was watching the webcast and ready to run outside after liftoff.

That was amazing. When the video cutout I was like nooo! then it came on and caught the panels extending and the earth in the background. So epic!

Pretty freaking awesome. I missed seeing the panels extend though. Must have looked away at the wrong time.

Well they are doing better then the Falcon 1, so that's a move in the right direction for them.
