Why would you want anything less then full tank? I always fill the tank full so I don't have to fill that often. On long therm it costs about the same to fill the tank all the time or keep it near empty.
What's the gas price in US? Last time I filled my E30, I had to pump the gas myself and paid $120 for full tank.

On a serious note, +/- 70 lbs of fuel in a 3200lb car - virtually insignificant. you probably make up the difference by not driving in and out of the gas station as often.
