Yes, it's simple and effective. Maybe if you are going to spend an hour peeling stuff it might be a problem, but the edges of the handle are nice and rounded.

While it is true that I could have found one for $.50 at a sale I would have spent a heck of a lot of time finding one. It should also be remembered that yard sales are not as fruitful for the type of stuff we could use as garage sales, as is going further from a metro area for your sale hunting.
Also bought some epoxy at the local hardware store to fix a cracked tile and some cracked plastic bits.
