The valve cover Im powder coating was previously done, the put it in a chemical bath to clean it. I plan on using a ultra sonic cleaner to really deep clean it.Leave a comment:

be careful with the valve cover. I polished mine and tried a clear powder to protect it, but the aluminum is porous enough that oil permeated it over 15+ years and every time they baked it the powder would fish eye. after three attempts they threw in the towel.Leave a comment:

They had some serious discount deals going on in my area for a few weeks now. I have been picking up a lot of shit from the side of the road.
So far:
4 washers(clean/fix and donate working ones)
3 driers(fix or donate working ones)
1 refrigerator("didnt work", was dirty plugs(works now))
1 stove(works)
2 hot water heaters (scrap)
If its free, its for me! To an extent...Leave a comment:

I assume you have a dedicated oven/appliance for curing out your coatings I hope.
DONT CURE in the oven your wife/GF/mom/you cook and eat out of the shit that off gases is very very bad for you and contaminates what ever you use to cure with for food prep.Leave a comment:

Picking up a 08 Grand Cherokee limited with the Mercedes om642 diesel tomorrow evening. It's got some miles, but dry as a bone underneath, no rust, garage kept and meticulously maintained.
Pretty excited about this one! Selling the Audi as well. Time to get away from the money pit and save some cash. After the Audi sells we're going to find a newer fuel efficient car for her and sell the Saab as well.
Just a couple more steps in the money saving direction after ditching credit cards this year and living in the positive side financially.
