Diluted alcohol!?

So I've never noticed this until I moved to Ohio. I've been accidentally buying "diluted" vodka and tequila store brands for mixer thinking it was saying "distilled" for some reason. Tonight I noticed it when I ran out of my "straight up" vodka and had to move onto a Kroger house brand until I bought something tomorrow. I've never seen diluted liquor at the package stores back east. Is it law or something in some states you can't buy full strength liquor in a grocery store?

Wtf. No wonder all my mix drinks have tasted to off.

Unless it says "cask strength" on the bottle, it's diluted. Distillates are >90% ethanol right off the still.

Seriously though, when I was out west skiing in Colorado, they did have beer with a lower alachol content, but that had to do with being at 9800 feet where alachol effects you more than at sea level. Never seen what your talking about, even the cheap vodka in MI is still 70-80 proof. We just can't get the good (190 proof) Everclear that WI has.

Everclear is the devils drink. SoUthern Comfort gets me wasted don't know why. Ichiban is probably my favorite beer & it's 6%.
