Pretty sure there's a civilization out there confused about the radio transmissions they've been receiving telling them about a spacecraft hurtling towards them. Going to die out long before they ever get a chance to find it.

This is really awesome http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ci...cultivos12.htm
Especially stuff like "Why did Sagan et al. think (in 1974) that “our” DNA consists of about 3 billion more base pairs (4,294,441,822) than the entire genetic community at large acknowledged at the time? And, why did they apparently choose to send that “erroneous” information into space in their historic Arecibo Transmission?" makes ya wonder.Comment

If you could take a ship, and head away from the planet at 2x the speed of light for 40-50 years, you could watch "I Love Lucy" and "Leave it to Beaver" as it aired live, for our parents.
That kinda shit is cool to me. If an Alien species finds our shit, they would only know us by how we were on the first radio shows, then tv shows... chronologically ordered. Meaning, that even if we sent out messages today, showing what we know now, the aliens still wouldn't get it until after they saw everything before that message (Since it all travels at the speed of light). "Gunsmoke" and Johnny Carson FTW!Last edited by m73m95; 06-19-2012, 05:20 PM.Comment
