Anyone ever rehab a rotator cuff?

I lift weights, just wanted to throw that in there, but the problem existed before i did two years ago. I sleep on my arm, it would be easy just to tell myself not to do it but you cant control that in your sleep lol
It started hurting before that, and laying on my arm aggravates it and am sure was the start of it all.
Regardless im 99% sure its the rotor cuff, i even feel it when doing specific exercises, i dont have insurance so going to a doctor is out of the question;)

Possible to rehab it on its own? Doesnt hurt per se, just uncomfortable. The worst part is, is that its my "good shoulder" that has this issue :hitler:

    Any input is much appreciated

Heat, ice, and ibuprofen are gonna be your friends...
If you know any physical therapists, ask them to show you how to use an elec-stim machine(commonly called a TENS(sp?) unit), but I wouldn't recommend just using one without knowing how to as you could cause more damage

I tore my left rotator cuff weight lifting aswell.

pushed too hard with a 100lb DB, lost control or momentum and my arm snapped back behind my back while doing shoulder presses...

      heard the pop/crunch.
I was more humiliated than anything else after dropping the DB on the ground, tried to "stretch/walk it off" which just made matters worse.

about 10 weeks of physio and tension/resistance band training and I started getting strength back.

all in all it took a good 6 months of rest for it to heal, and to this day it's still not normal and will ever be the same.

this happened 5 years ago too

just be diligent on your at home exercices, and know your limits.

I strained my rotator in a bad snowboarding spill a year ago. I spent all last summer hoping it would heal and trying to take it easy on it, then in the Fall I fucked it even worse while at work (mechanic) I could barely lift my arm above my head straight in front of me and had barely any strength lifting to the side.

I went to physio and got IMS (Intramuscular stimulation) done, the shit works wonders. Google it and find out if there is any one doing it near you. You need to find out if it is a strain or a tear though IMS can't help a tear you need surgery for that.

If you are squeamish about needles you will need to suck it up for this one, they stick you with an acupuncture needle all over your shoulder muscle right down deep almost to the bone usually around 20-30 different spots a session. I went 3 or 4 times and honestly I was amazed at the improvement. Fuck does your arm hurt the rest of the day after you get it done though.

You still need to rehab it with excercise to get the muscle strength back but this shit lets your strained muscle which goes into a permanently contracted state relax and heal.

Exercise wise I've been doing wall angels 12 reps two sets twice a week as well as reverse tubing Y's and cable machine diagonal raises.

I went from my arm going numb/to sleep at night and being unable to sleep on it in December to 99% recovered now. I can sleep on my arm, have full strength in it no tingling sensation at night, although I still have some lost flexibility I am getting that back slowly.
