Nissan =/= BMW.
Heard a story from an old Lincoln tech that one old lady ran her Lincoln for ~100k miles on one oil change. Sunday driver, etc, etc. Typical old lady, so it was years and years to get this mileage.
Oil wouldn't drain out of the engine. Had to pull the pan and scrape it out.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5

^ had he same thing on a 5.0 thunderbird. owner never changed it, jut added when it needed it. I have never in my life seen a V8 lifter valley that was completely solid with sludge.
also had an american soldier a few years ago with an e39 530i (M54) that had a loud VANOS rattle. after pulling the valve cover off- it was pretty evident why. He said since the car was new he had never changed the oil- had about 90,000 miles on it. the money he saved in not changing the oil was spent twofold in flushing of the motor and a new VANOS unit.

if it makes it to 100k, you have to change the oil 6 times, it makes dealer maintenance much cheaper than if you did it like you cared. But we all love "free" maintenance, don't we?

I have no pictures, but we had an 850 Volvo with ~120K on the clock and the lady had never changed the oil. It was bought by a good friend of mine with no oil pressure. We have had the pan off four times now each time removing a couple more inches of crud that has fallen out of the engine and oil passages.Originally posted by VivekI was wondering about the penis too.
